  • We were established in 1973.We provide imported Italian Sculpture hand and pneumatic tools, imported and domestic sculpture stone, sculpture mold, casting and foundry works, sculpture restoration and maintenance as well as commissioned sculpture pieces.

  • No, the original owner has sold the company in order to pursue her own artistic interests.

  • Montoya Sculpture & Supply has a 27-year history as a leader in the field but as times change, so do our clients and their needs.We have implemented a number of new items which include sculpture history seminars, increased stone selection (our goal is to have stones from each continent), quadrupled the number of workshops, decreased class size, increased benefits to workshop participants, included clay sculpture instruction, restructured the website to include a secure on-line catalog, guaranteed same day shipping.

  • Yes, we have weekly stone carving courses.We also offer eight intense workshops in our Famous Sculptors Seminars.
    
    
• How long has Montoya Sculpture & Supply been providing sculpture instruction?
  • This is the 18^th year of our Famous Sculpture Seminars.
    
    
• Are there similar organizations, which offer instruction?
  • Yes, however there are none located in the Southeast that offers the same depth and quality of instruction; offer the large stone selection and large tool selection and there are none that offer these services during the winter months.
    
    
• Do I have to be an experienced sculptor to take the workshops?
  • No, the workshops always have a mix of beginner and experienced stone sculptors.The quality of instruction is what makes the difference. Our instructors are often University professors and dedicated professional sculptors who enjoy sharing their ability with beginners and experienced participants.
    
    
• What type of stone does Montoya Sculpture & Supply sell?
  • We offer an increasing selection of soapstone (steatite), Alabaster, and Marble.We can provide pieces over 500 lbs but most of our stones are under 300 lbs.Although we import stone occasionally we have access to regular transatlantic shipments and daily shipments from around the country.
    
    
• Can I use power tools in the workshops?
  • Yes.We use hand and power (electric and pneumatic) tools.
