The Workshop Experience
There are few educational experiences that equal
a workshop. They are opportunities to gather with beginner and
advanced to learn and develop with experienced professors and
practicing artists.
Since 1985 we have been conducting sculpture workshops that have
served over 1900 participants. We provide a supportive fully equipped
facility limited to ten participants.

These courses are great
opportunities to work with accomplished sculptors and be
exposed to the latest ideas and approaches. Many of our
spaces are taken by returning participants. Please attend

Studio Rental (without instruction)

Benefits of participation in all stone workshops
of two or more days include:
1. Digital photos of up to two separate pieces in your instructors
gallery on this website (ask about details).
2. Show and/or sale of pieces on website.
3. Digital photos of your work in progress mailed or emailed to
you within two weeks.
4. A 10% discount on purchases during class.
5. Develop contacts, exposure to new ideas and techniques.
6. Class size limited to 10 students.
7. Certificate of Participation.

Studio Description:
We have an awning covered, fenced outdoor carving
studio with new electric outlets, a new compressor, various compressor
stations & carving benches which can accommodate 10 people (power
& hand carvers). In addition, there are lovely tree covered areas
behind our building where a few carvers may like to work. We also
have a smaller indoor carving area for hand carvers in the studio
where our stone is sold which can accommodate 4 sculptors.
Some Simple Rules:
Sculptors working at Montoya's must purchase your
stone here (it's only fair!). We have lower prices and a good
selection.
Tuition is not refundable after the start of classes.
You are responsible for cleaning up your work area (brooms and
pans provided by Montoya).
Additional Montoya Amenities:
Sculpture Gallery, well stocked sculpture supply
store, large assortment of carving stones for sale (protected
from weather), sculpture bases & mounting service, mold making
& casting, sculpture classes, seminars & more.
